I completed my teacher training in Yin Yoga in India in 2026 after many years of personal practice in different yoga styles and traditions. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT-200) and my training was completed in accordance with Yoga Alliance requirements.
I specialize in Yin Yoga with an emphasis on functional approaches to postures, meridian-based sequencing, and yogic and Daoist breathing practices as conduits for healing and pathways to the subtle body. My teaching approach is informed by my own practice of yoga to treat autoimmune disease. In addition to my teacher training in Yin Yoga Therapy, I have also attended workshops with Yin Yoga pioneers Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers.
My previous yoga studies include Iyengar Yoga training with Ellen Greenberg in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Andrea Stafl in Eugene, Oregon, and Siddharth Bangera in Mumbai, India. I have also studied yoga in the tradition of T.K.V. Desikachar with Shakuntala Devulapally and Saraswathi Vasudevan in India.
I am certified by the Government of India’s Bharat Sevak Samaj as an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach. I studied Ayurveda with Dr. Renuka Yadav in India and incorporate this tradition’s individualized and holistic methodology in my practice and teaching.
My yoga teaching is also informed by my academic background in religious studies and training in meditation. I have studied Hindi, Urdu, and Persian language and a wide range of religious and philosophical traditions during my time in academia. I have practiced Vipassana meditation in India and attended retreats with senior American Buddhist meditation teachers, Rodney Smith, Santikaro, Leigh Brasington, Jude Rozhon, and Robert Beatty.
